Our
new scraper frog is standard in our scraper planes, or can be purchased
separately to use in our regular line of bench planes to turn them
into a scraper plane. Replacing a standard frog with a scraper frog
takes about 2 minutes. Our scraper planes have all the adjustments
of our bench planes, so by purchasing a standard bench plane frog,
you have both a scraper plane & bench plane in one.
The blade is removed and inserted
through the bottom of the plane. Two set screws tighten the blade.
The center set screw moves a bowing pin to bow the blade in the middle.
The planes depth adjusters make this the easiest to adjust scraper
plane available.

Types of Woods:
Mesquite: Mesquite is our featured wood
for planes. It is very hard, heavy, beautiful, and very very stable.
It is one of the only woods where the ratio of tangential to radial
shrinkage approaches 1:1.
Quartersawn Hard Maple: This is used for
the sole and body. This is a dense, hard-wearing wood with a very
fine grain. We pair this with either Black Walnut or Cherry
for the sides and handles.
Jatoba: This is an extremely hard and dense
wood. Reddish to reddish brown.
East Indian Rosewood: Plantation grown.

Fully adjustable. Specify wood type and metal for fittings.
Our Smooth Plane features a full, comfortable handgrip. If
you have never tried planing with a four finger grip, you
must try one of our planes to appreciate it. There is plenty
of room for your fingers without being crowded by adjustment
knobs.
